LocalHostHQ is for people aged 18 to 30 working on new inventions, companies, and creative projects. You don’t need a CS degree or a polished pitch deck; what matters is a track record of making things and a willingness to go full-time on what excites you. We look for engineers, researchers, artists, and people “doing their own thing.”
Applications are specific to each location. Head to the site for Bangalore, San Francisco, or Tokyo and apply there directly, as each location has its own form and timeline. We’ll ask about what you’re working on, what you’ve built before, and a few things that help us understand how you think.
We review every application ourselves. If there’s a fit, someone from the team will reach out directly. There are no automated rejections or mass emails. Timelines vary by cohort, but we try to move quickly. If you don’t hear back, it usually means the current cohort is full or the timing wasn’t right, not that you’re out for good.
No. LocalHostHQ doesn’t take equity as a condition of joining. If we invest, it’s because we’ve chosen to participate in a round, and only if you want us involved. The relationship is founder-first, always.
No. We don’t promise funding or use it as a reason to join. What we offer is space, infrastructure, peers, and media support. Some people who come through do go on to receive grants or investment from us, but that’s always decided case by case, never by default.
Three things, mostly: what you've done before, what you're building now, and how future-proof the idea is. We're sector-agnostic. We don't care if it's AI, hardware, film, or something we've never seen. We care whether you've demonstrated the ability to build, and whether you're the kind of person who'll make the most of an intense, unstructured environment.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. We back young people from all backgrounds, regardless of credentials.
